Hi.  I'm Janadi Gonzalez, or "Jan," the artist behind Janabeancreations.  I am a proud member of the London Community of Artists and the Pastel Artists of Canada, specializing in hyper-realistic stunning pastel and graphite portraits.

I've loved drawing since I was a child but never had the confidence to pursue it as a career until my mom died. She dedicated her life to what she was gifted at - teaching.  She tutored many children (sometimes up to 2 generations!) always ensuring her prices were accessible and even providing free lessons for those who couldn't afford them. I decided that I needed to follow in her footsteps and develop my gift.

When a co-worker told me about her beloved pet a golden retriever who had passed away, I decided to gift her a drawing of Maddie. Her delight at receiving this gift showed me that it was possible to make people happy through my art.

I branched out to graphite drawings of people and pets over time. I vowed that like my mother I would keep my prices affordable and that I would draw free portraits on occasion for well deserving people who couldn't afford to purchase one. Before my mother’s teaching practice grew, we really struggled financially and often we couldn’t afford gifts aside from the ones we made. So I understand not being able to provide beautiful gifts for the people you love.
