White crowned sparrow

Growing up on a tropical #island, I was exposed to a myriad of #birds. #Parrots were my favourite as a pair flew overhead my high school very early in the morning and late in the afternoon. But never #sparrows. My introduction to sparrows ironically was through #StephenKing' s book #theDarkHalf where sparrows were considered the #harbingersofdeath. I imagined these birds to be fearsome creatures, dark and foreboding. Imagine my surprise on migrating to #Canada in 2015 and seeing these very #cute and #sweet creatures, who helped welcome the #spring after the chill of winter. I now love these little birds. Thanks to my friend C. Bhatt, who takes the most awesome photos of birds in and around #ldnont, I found a special type - the #whitecrownedsparrow - which is my latest #artwork. This particular little guy is well-fed and such a #cutiepie. Thoroughly enjoyed making this piece which is a combination of #softpastels, #panpastels and #pastelpencils on white paper.
